Why BreakPoint Exists

The resilience conference industry has been stuck in a loop: vendor-dominated agendas, $1,500+ ticket prices, stale frameworks, inexperienced speakers, and sponsors prioritized over practitioners.

BreakPoint flips that entire model.

This is a conference for the people who actually run resilience programs: business continuity teams, risk analysts, IT recovery staff, crisis managers, cyber responders, one-person BC/DR departments, and small-to-mid-market leaders who never get the spotlight at traditional events.

What Makes BreakPoint Different

  • Educational content is protected. Sales messaging is prohibited in practitioner sessions.
  • Panels are honest and open. Political realities, failures, layoffs, and scars are discussed openly.
  • Small and mid-size organizations take center stage. This isn't another enterprise-only event.
  • Global access with zero travel cost. The entire conference happens inside Microsoft Teams.
  • Career networking built in. A dedicated Teams channel for job seekers, hirers, and career transitions.

Conference Format

BreakPoint runs April 12-16, 2027, featuring 4-5 practitioner sessions per day, plus one daily panel discussion. Sessions are 45–60 minutes of practical, tactical content covering BC, DR, cyber, vendor risk, TPRM, crisis management, facilities, audit, and more.

After the live conference wraps, access stays open for an additional week for attendees, speakers, and vendors to come back, catch up on sessions they missed, keep the conversation going, or check out vendor demos they didn't get to the first time around.

All live sessions are recorded and made available to attendees. Dedicated vendor channels remain active throughout the conference and the post-conference week for continued engagement.

Panels That Tell the Truth About Our Field

Finally, a space where the real challenges of BC/DR work get discussed openly:

  • "You're Not a Real Continuity Professional Until You've Been Fired" — Career resets, layoffs, navigating toxic leadership, and coming back stronger.
  • "What I Wish I Knew Before I Got Into Continuity & Recovery" — The political side, the battles, and the realities no certification course prepares you for.
  • "The Ground is Shifting: Why Traditional Methods Aren't Working Anymore" — How remote work, SaaS dependency, and third-party concentration have changed recovery assumptions.
  • "One-Person Continuity Departments: How to Survive Without Losing Your Mind" — The most relatable panel in the entire conference.
  • "Certifications, Politics, and Necessary Evils" — The growing tension between professional certifications and real-world experience.
  • "Make the Right Friends: The Relationships That Make or Break Your Program" — Cross-functional alliances, internal politics, and rebuilding trust after broken relationships.

Who Should Speak at BreakPoint

We want practitioners with scars, not theorists.

Your voice is needed if you've survived a recent disaster response, run a one-person program, dealt with unreasonable expectations, built relationships across IT/cyber/risk, modernized a BC program, responded to cyber outages, navigated layoffs or reorganizations, or learned hard lessons the frameworks don't teach.

Ideal sessions are experience-based, educational, action-oriented, and free of marketing language. Your session should include real incidents, real failures, real decision-making challenges, how you navigated politics, what you'd do differently, and takeaways attendees can use immediately in their programs.

We especially welcome first-time speakers, one-person departments, mid-market resilience leads, global practitioners (EMEA, APAC, LATAM, UK), career-transition stories, and case-study-based teaching.

Vendor Participation

BreakPoint is not a lead-harvesting event. There is no expo hall, no foot traffic, and no "sell as hard as you can before teardown."

Vendor participation is a flat $1,000 fee for a dedicated Microsoft Teams channel — your virtual booth, demo room, Q&A space, and follow-up hub. Channels open the Friday before the conference and remain active through the post-conference week.

We expect professional dialogue, honest answers (including acknowledging limitations), and respect for practitioner time. Vendors who show up curious, answer questions honestly, and stay engaged do well. Vendors looking for badge scans and booth traffic should look elsewhere.

Get Involved

Speaker submissions, vendor inquiries, and attendee tickets are all being accepted now.

If you've ever said "Why doesn't anyone talk about what REALLY happens?" — this conference is for you.
